Leni Tells Voters to Bring Back Chiz to Senate; Cites his Solid Track Record as Public Servant
Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday urged the Filipino electorate to bring Sorsogon Gov. Chiz Escudero back to the Senate if they want an experienced legislator with a proven track record as public servant.
In her speech at the campaign rally of the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem held at the Sorsogon Gymnasium this morning, Robredo said Escudero can do more for the people if he is elected again as senator.
She also described Escudero, who is a guest senatorial candidate of the Angat Buhay ticket, as a true leader who is willing to collaborate and set aside political differences for the sake of the country and the Filipino people.
Robredo shared that when she won the vice presidency in 2016, it was the veteran senator, a fellow contender, who reached out and offered his help to her and the Office of the Vice President so it can function properly despite the limited budget allocation.
. . tinulungan niya ang OVP,” Robredo said.
The Vice President also lauded Escudero for the transformation of Sorsogon despite the COVID-19 pandemic, which was achieved in less than three years since the former senator became the provincial chief executive in 2019.
Nakita natin iyon dito sa Sorsogon,” Robredo said.
Aside from the Robredo-Pangilinan ticket, the tandems of Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto; and Senator Manny Pacquiao and Rep. Lito Atienza, who are running for president and vice president, respectively, have also adopted Escudero in their senatorial slates.
UniTeam vice-presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, the Magdalo Party-list, and mayors from Calabarzon (Cavite-Laguna-Rizal-Quezon) and Eastern Samar have also endorsed Escudero, a consistent topnotcher in various independent pre-election surveys for senatorial preference. #
