DepEd Caraga conducts 1st Regional IPEd Education Gathering

BUTUAN CITY– The Department of Education Caraga region headed by its regional director Dr. Beatriz C. Torno will hold the 1st Regional Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Education Gathering on October 24, here.


According to director Torno, the event is an opportunity to affirm the milestones and gains of the IPEd Program in the region while strengthening DepEd’s partnership with indigenous cultural communities (ICCs) and civil society partners particularly for curriculum development and education planning.


“The regional event is aimed to promote greater awareness of and respect for Indigenous Peoples Cultural Communities and to provide convergence opportunities to all stakeholders in carrying out the objectives of the IPEd Program,” director Torno said.


It also aims to promote greater awareness of and respect for ICCs and provide convergence opportunities to all stakeholders in carrying out the objectives of the IPEd Program, director Torno added.


The activity is in line with the observance of the National Indigenous People’s Month and will be participated by the schools division superintendents of the IPEd implementing divisions, regional and division IPEd focal persons and other division personnel, teachers, IP learners, representative from IP communities and other stakeholders from Caraga region. ###
