BES studes bring home awards during the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math challenge
BUTUAN CITY — The Bit-os Elementary School (BES) tops in the average group score by grade level during the 2017 Metrobank-DepEd Math Challenge held at West Central Elementary School on February 16.
Each level has three participants and received awards. For Grade One, they won 3rd place participated by Keziah Mae T. Tito, Althea Faith N. Ardecer and Rayver John Reyes with their coach Ms. Estela C. Camilosa.
The Grade 2 pupils Kyle B. Plantar, Joannah Mea P. Dayondon, Princess Pis-o with the coach Mrs. Filadelfa D. Oclarit have also won the 1st place.
The Grade 3 got 1st place with the coach Mrs. Valeriana C. Cloma. The contestants were Anna Claire Avila, Rain Russel Antonida, Rodmuckuen de Guzman.
Also, Grade 4 pupils Bea Pantaleon, Dominador A. Malot and Khazandra Valles with coach Mrs. Joy Carol A. Belarmino got the 2nd place. Grade 5 got 5th place with participants namely: Honeylyn Igcalinos, Marly C.Lopez, and Aleia B. Rabi with the coach Mrs. Gemma T. Tito.
For the Grade 6, the 3rd place was won Ivan Arrubio, Melzhar Pauline Leop, and Marijoe Sildo with coach Mrs. Joan Faith N. Ardecer.
The Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Challenge is aimed to awaken greater interest in mathematics among elementary and high school students and teachers in both elementary and private schools all over the country; to encourage the students to strive for excellence in mathematics; to discover mathematical talents among students; to encourage the mastery of basic mathematical skills; to provide the students opportunities in leadership and cooperative understanding; and to improve the Mathematics Education in the Philippines. ## (Gemma T.
