DepEd celebrates NDRM

BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service, instructs all regional offices and schools division offices to observe the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this month of July.

The instruction is in accordance with DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2017 entitled School Calendar for school year 2017-2018.

Also, the observance is pursuant to Executive Order No. 29, s. 2017 entitled Renaming the National Disaster Consciousness Month to National Disaster Resilience Month and shifting its Focus from Disaster Awareness Building to Disaster Resilience.

This year’s NDRM observance is anchored on the theme “4Ks: Kamalayan sa Kahandaan, Katumbas ay Kaligtasan.”

During the month long observance, Schools and offices are encouraged to coordinate with their local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and concerned agencies to conduct the activities and to mark the significance of the occasion. (DepEd Butuan City Division)
