DepEd commemorates PHL independence, observes natl. flag day

In line with the celebration of the 120th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence and observance of the National Flag Day, Department of Education (DepEd) secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones issued DepEd Memorandum No. 98, s. 2018 requiring central office, regional offices, schools division offices, and schools to undertake activities during the event.
Some of the activities to be conducted on June 12 include a simultaneous flag raising in schools and historical sites; display of Philippine Flag in respective classrooms, offices, and residences of all teaching and non-teaching personnel from 15 May to 30 June, 2018; and special discussions on the Philippine Flag for continuous flag awareness and discuss significant events history which led to the Proclamation of Philippine Independence especially in Sibika at Kultura, Hekasi, Araling Panlipunan, Values Education, Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health, Filipino and English per week all year round.
Also, conduct of simple campus program to be participated in by the students and to be spearheaded by the Social Studies department are encouraged. Putting up of bulletin board or a venue within the campus where informative materials concerning the commemorative events maybe displayed. ###
