DepEd suspends events involving students

The Department of Education (DepEd) has suspended all scheduled national and regional events involving students from different localities due to the threat of COVID-19 pandemic.
These events include the Palaro Regional meets and other events involving students.
However, since participants for the National Festival of Talents (NFOT) and national Schools Press Conference (NSPC) are already in the venue, the events will proceed as scheduled following heightened precautions and health protocols.
The 2020 NFOT final schedule on March 9 to 13, 2020 is hosted by City of Ilagan, Isabela in Region 2.
The NSPC is the highest competition for journalism for both private and public elementary and secondary schools in the Philippines as per Republic Act 7079, also known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991. ###
