Cebu Pacific passengers stranded in Dubai
Passengers of Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 015 bound for Manila have been stranded at the Dubai International Airport since Sunday evening (Dubai time).
According to Cebu Pacific, the flight, which was supposed to leave Dubai at 11 p.m. on Sunday (3 a.m., Monday, Manila time), was delayed due to a technical problem in the aircraft.
The budget airline said the aircraft was undergoing a thorough maintenance inspection.
The passengers will be accommodated in a new flight and will depart Dubai at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 (10:30 p.m. Manila time).
The airline said guests have been provided with meals, hotel accommodation and a one-way travel voucher to compensate for the delay.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this incident may have caused. We hope for everyone’s understanding as safety remains our top priority. Updates will be provided as soon as available,” Cebu Pacific said in a statement. ## (ABS-CBN News)
