Butuan City, National Finalist for the 2024 National Literacy Awards

The Literacy Coordinating Council (LCC) announced the National Finalists for the 2024 National Literacy Awards: Gawad Liyab Search under the Outstanding Local Government Unit (LGU) – Highly Urbanized Cities category.
Butuan City already received a recognition for being the first place for two consecutive National Literacy Awards on its literacy programs. Butuan City received the first award on year 2018. The award was received by Mayor Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada together with other city and barangay officials and city employees in charge in the literacy programs.
On year 2022, Butuan City again got the first place, the second award for its literacy program.
This year, Butuan City is again included in the national finalist for the National Literacy Awards. The city has undergone careful and thorough deliberation by the Board of Evaluators and will be subjected to further evaluation and onsite validation. ###
