The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued a Policy Guidelines on the Adoption of the K to 12 Transition Curriculum Framework for Learners with Disabilities (LWDs) which articulates the principles, features and standards that will establish common understanding on the transition of LWDs in all public and private schools nationwide.

The DepEd Order is anchored on the principles of inclusivity and equity, which considers the LWDs’ individual interests, abilities, capacities, strengths, and special needs. In consonance with DepEd Order No. 021, s. 2019 titled Policy Guidelines on the K to 12 Basic Education Program, this policy puts further emphasis on what the field implementers can offer to LWDs in terms of their life pathway, which include but is not limited to higher education, entrepreneurship, employment, middle level skills development, or functional life path.

The K to 12 Transition Curriculum for LWDs may be accessed by all public and private schools through the official DepEd website at http://www.deped.gov.ph. ###
