The Department of Education through the External Partnerships Service implements Brigada Eskwela 2022 program in preparation for the opening of classes for school year 2022-2023. The Brigada Eskwela Program implements “Brigada Eskwela sa Paghahanda”, a month-long implementation of Schools Maintenance Week which covers the search for 2022 Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing Schools.
 
Butuan Central Elementary School under the Mega Schools Category held its Face-to-Face Kick-off last August 3, 2022 which was participated by the 11 Service Barangays, Alumni Association, Stakeholders, Teachers and Staff that led the BCES Brigada Eskwela 2022 Kick-off a success.
 
Indeed, the spirit of volunteerism and passion to help is present in every Butuanon’s heart as BCES received series of donations and support that addressed the school problem as defined in the BE-LRCP or Basic Education Learning Recovery Continuity Plan. Parents and stakeholders adhered to its theme, “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”. With proper health protocols, BCES withstand the safe return of its learners in the opening of classes through community-initiated activities like Free Eye Check-up, Pediatrician’s Medical Check-up, Feeding Programs, Free Vitamins, Supplements, over-the-counter Medicines, and Medical Mission for learners, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.
 
Several repairs and construction were also initiated by the BCES Parents and Stakeholders. To name some, the tiling of BCES Stage through “Adopt-a-Stage Program” initiated by the Butuan Bay Eagles Club. The School’s Parents-Teachers Association donated the construction of SPTA Mini-Office and 5 units of water dispensers to provide free potable water to all BCES learners, parents, teachers, and staff. The school administrators and faculty members are very much thankful for the rehabilitated the CCTV cameras visible in some areas inside the campus to ensure the security of the school.
 
Amidst the challenges brought about the Covid-19 Virus, the Bayanihan spirit is still present to every parents, stakeholders, partners, alumni, and service barangays. All their collaborative efforts to welcome  in-person classes that led the success of BCES as one of the Best Implementing Schools in Butuan City Division, Mega School Category.
 
Butuan Central Elementary School was visited by the Deped Butuan City Division Social Mobilization Team during the conduct of validation at BCES-SBM Showroom. The Deped Butuan City Division Social Mobilization Team is composed of the Education Program Specialist II, Mr. Domingo C. Nollora III, together with his team, Mr. Eraño Garcia, Ms. Marlyne R. Cullantes, and Ms. Generuth Bagaforo.
 
The said validation was attended by Brigada Eskwela School Coordinator, Mrs. Ophelia C. Balla, Brigada Eskwela School Co-Coordinator, Ms. Rhodora I. Radaza, Adopt-a-School Program Coordinator, Mrs. Kirstine May L. Sera, and the Brigada ICT incharge, Mr. John Rhey C. Calonia. The team is also supported by the School Administrators spearheaded by BCES Principal IV, Dr. Luisito G. Pero.
 
Overall, the total generated resources of 2022 Brigada Eskwela amounted to 2,184,925.50 with 13.33% increase from the previous school year. Thus, Butuan Central Elemetary School placed 2nd on the 2022 Brigada Eskwela: Search for Best Implementing Schools under the Mega Schools Category. The BCES Brigada Eskwela did it again! ###
