DepEd formulates BEDP 2030

Recognizing the importance of looking at the future of education in the country and to establish a more holistic and comprehensive approach to planning, the Department of Education (DepEd) formulated the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030.
In a Memorandum issued by DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn M. Sevilla states that the BEDP is the Department’s first long-term plan for basic education covering all formal education from Kindergarten (K), Elementary, Junior High School (JHS), to Senior High School (SHS), as well as nonformal education through the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
“It shall provide a strategic roadmap geared towards improving the delivery and quality of basic education by addressing the immediate impacts of the pandemic on learning and participation, close the remaining access gaps, confront the issue on education quality, and anticipate the future of education and introduce innovations in fostering resiliency and embedding the rights of children and the youth in education,” she said.
Also, as part of its implementation, Planning Service will lead the conduct of the Official Launch of the Basic Education Development Plan 2030 on June 3, 2022, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. within the National Capital Region. The program will be in hybrid format and will be livestreamed through the DepEd Philippines Official Facebook Page and will be cross posted to DepEd Regional Pages. The program aims to present the BEDP to the DepEd stakeholders, as well as garner support and commitment in its implementation
Sevilla invites all DepEd officials from the central office, regional offices, and representatives from schools division offices, and elementary and secondary schools to participate in the official launch of the Basic Education Development Plan. External Education Partners will also be invited to attend the activity. Other DepEd personnel can also participate in the activity through the Facebook livestream. ###
