52% of active Covid-19 cases in Caraga with mild symptoms

The Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13) has noted that 52.1 percent of active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients in the region are experiencing only mild symptoms.
In a report on Wednesday, the DOH-13 said Caraga has 4,033 active cases.
The agency added that 44.14 percent of the active cases are asymptomatic, 3 percent with moderate symptoms, and 0.7 percent with severe symptoms.
The standing active cases represent 7.4 percent of the 54,167 total number of infections recorded in the region since the pandemic hit the country in 2020.
On Tuesday, the DOH-13 recorded 290 new infections.
“Caraga Region also registered 110 new recoveries on Tuesday that brings the total number of recoveries to 48,205 or 89 percent of the total cases,” the DOH-13 report said.
On the same day, nine new Covid-19 related deaths were also recorded, bringing the total number of fatalities in the region to 1,929 or 3.6 percent of the total cases.
Moreover, the DOH-13 reported the availability rate of intensive care units, isolation, and ward beds in the region amidst the increasing number of infections.
As of Tuesday, 46 percent of ICU beds in the region are still available, as well as 21 percent of the isolation beds and 33 percent of ward beds, the agency said. (PNA)
