DepEd supports the implementation of Bayanihan, Bakunahan

The Department of Education (DepEd) fully supports the implementation of the Bayanhinan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days. Per Presidential Proclamation No. 1253, declaring 29 November to 01 December 2021 as Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days.
Per DepEd Memorandum No. 082, s. 2021 issued by Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, all teaching and nonteaching personnel, parents, and learners from 12 years of age are encouraged to get vaccinated and support the government’s vaccination program against COVID-19.
“This is also crucial in the implementation of the face-to-face learning modality and its eventual expansion, as well as in the normalization of our agency operations,” said Secretary Briones.
In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 1253, all teaching and nonteaching personnel, including regular plantilla, casual, contractual, and contract of service (COS) personnel, who will be vaccinated during the aforesaid period, shall not be considered absent from their work, provided that they present proof of vaccination to the heads of functional offices.
Also, all learners who will be vaccinated during the aforesaid period shall be considered excused from attending classes, provided that they present proof of vaccination to their teachers. ###
