DepEd to conduct 2021 National Schools Press Conference

The Department of Education (DepEd) announces the conduct of the 2021 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) from august 11 to 13, 2021 online, dubbed as the National Conference on Campus Journalism in the 21st Century with the theme, Pahayagang Pangkampus: Kaagapay sa Paghilom at Pagbangon ng Sambayanan.
The event is pursuant to Republic Act No. 7079, also known as Campus Journalism Act of 1991, and its implementing Rules and Regulations specifically Rule IX of Section 1.
The conference aims to capacitate learners, school paper advisers and relevant field personnel with an understanding of the importance of journalism by expressing it through different journalistic endeavors and approaches; sustain advocacy on social consciousness and environmental awareness; provide a venue for an enriching learning experience for students interested in Journalism as a career or those who intend to use skill sets learned through campus journalism to give them a better edge in their chosen careers; promote responsible journalism and fair and ethical use of social media; introduce the new NSPC events and its alignment with the Special Program in Journalism; and showcase the campus journalistic skills of students across the regions. ###
