“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”, said by Malcolm X.

Accepting new normal ways of learning is quite a challenge at this point. Although this school year 2021-2022 is the second year of implementing distance learning modalities is still a challenging one. But this is still not an obstacle for our learners to continue their learning.

Undersecretary for Planning and Human Resource and Organizational Development Jesus L. R Mateo told the Manila Bulletin in a Viber message that, “We are proposing probably 16th August 2021 (the opening of classes) but subject to issuance of enrollment policy.”

As part of the opening of this school year’s preparations, DepEd conducted early registration in March to May as participated by Butuan Central Elementary School, one of the public schools in Butuan City. However, DepEd noted that for the remaining level, there will still be an official enrollment period. All students wishing to enroll for SY 2021-2022, even those who participated in early registration, are still required to formally enroll once the enrollment period begins.

In this regard, BCES offers only two modalities: online classes and modular classes. This is to give more focus to the two modalities and reduce financial resources like in the reproduction of activity sheets, modules and so on.

The BCES guidance team continues to accept enrollees during school days. From 8 am to 4 pm. And in this regard, DepEd announced that President Duterte has approved September 13, 2021 as the opening date for the 2021-2022 school year along with the options recommended by Education Secretary Briones. ###
