BCES-Reyes Championed Spoken Word Poetry

Regional NDRM Spoken Poetry Contest sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga hailed Jheff Ymann T. Reyes, a pupil from Butuan Central Elementary School as Champion in Spoken Poetry with his coach Mr. Jayson Jhon P. Sumahid.
 
Spoken poetry is word-based performance art. It is a piece of writing intended to be spoken or presented to an audience with emotion. The contest was open to all Elementary School Pupils in Caraga Region. The output of the spoken poetry was composed originally by the participants. The poetry was composed of four thematic areas, such as (1) Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.; (2) Disaster Preparedness; (3) Disaster Response; and (4) Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery.
 
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) highlighted this event to give awareness to our young learners that DSWD from the Philippine Government ensures that they have well-coordinated to different agencies as a whole in response to any disasters, and also follows established protocols, and is communicated to the public.
 
The top three winners received cash prizes, a plaque, and a certificate. The winners landed in second place is also coming from Butuan City Division namely Patricia L. Jose- of J.T Domingo CES with her coach – Ms. Lovilla A. Pancho, and also Siargao Division ranked as third place.
 
The winners claimed their prizes with the initiative of DSWD representative Ms. Escartin Margeary, where they conducted mobilization for the recognition of the awardees. ###
