Dr. Jonas H. Jomonong, a dedicated Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), has consistently demonstrated unparalleled instructional leadership and mentorship throughout his distinguished career. His journey is marked by a commitment to excellence, which has inspired and empowered the schools under his supervision to achieve remarkable milestones.
Sustained SBM Excellence
Under Dr. Jomonong’s visionary guidance, his district achieved and sustained the School-Based Management (SBM) Advance Level of Practice. This significant accomplishment was first recognized during the Regional Field Technical Assistance Team’s surveillance in CY 2021, solidifying the district’s commitment to quality education and effective school governance. The district’s SBM practices were again tested during the June 6, 2022, and July 15, 2022, SBM-WINS surveillance, where they met and exceeded expectations. The culmination of these efforts was the awarding of the Sustained School-Based Management (SBM) Level of Practice on December 15, 2022—a testament to Dr. Jomonong’s leadership and the collective dedication of his team.
Championing Curriculum Excellence
His leadership extended beyond administrative success; it also nurtured academic excellence. One of the schools under his supervision, Taligaman National High School, emerged as a finalist in the Most Learning-Focused Grade 7-10-Large Category and Grade 11-12-Large Category in the 2020-2021 Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Curriculum and Instruction (SAFE-CI). This recognition, awarded on March 9, 2022, highlighted the school’s commitment to delivering high-quality education. Dr. Jomonong’s unwavering support and mentorship were instrumental in guiding the school toward this prestigious recognition.
Innovative Educational Technology
In addition to driving curriculum excellence, Dr. Jomonong has been a coach, mentor, and technical assistance provider of innovative educational technologies. His district’s commitment to integrating technology in education was recognized through Taligaman National High School with the Best Educational Technology Innovation Award for the project titled “Project REACH” (Remote Educational Assistance for Continuous Learning at Home) at the DepEd Edtech Awards 2022, representing Region XIII—SDO Butuan City. This project showcased the district’s forward-thinking approach to education, emphasizing the use of technology to enhance learning experiences and accessibility for all students.
