SELG leader hopes in MATATAG curriculum

Department of Education (DepEd) implemented the pilot implementation of MATATAG Curriculum in selected public schools nationwide to improve to quality of basic education towards the country.
A DepEd memorandum No. 054 was issued dated September 8, 2023 also known as Pilot Implementation of the MATATAG curriculum as basis on the said implementation.
“The main objective of the pilot implementation is to gain valuable insights that will inform the implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum on a larger scale,” said DepEd Secretary Gina O. Gonong.
Secretary Gonong also said that the pilot schools are chosen to have different representations of public schools in elementary and secondary from National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Meanwhile in an interview to Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) President of Pedro-Victorina Calo Elementary School Jermelyn L. Takiang she hopes on the MATATAG Curriculum.
“I hope MATATAG curriculum will give us more learnings for us to have a brighter future,” said SELG President Takiang.
Takiang also added that she is ready to learn new topics and lessons including new subjects for Grades 4-10 such as GMRC.
It is expected that MATATAG curriculum will be implemented on School Year (SY) 2024-2025 in Kindergarten, Grades 1,4 and 7, for SY 2025-2026, Grades 2,5,8, for SY 2026-2027 will be Grades 3, 6, 9, and SY 2027-2028 will be grade 10. ###
