DepEd set to conduct the 2024 National Schools Press conference

The Department of Education (DepEd) will conduct the 2024 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) with the theme, Galing, Talino at Husay ng mga Batang Makabansa sa Diwa ng MATATAG na Adhika on July 8 to 12 in Carcar City in Region VII.
The conduct of the NSPC is aligned with the thrust of Republic Act (RA) No. 10533 known as Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, wherein Section 2 of the said policy states that, The State shall establish, maintain, and support a complete, adequate, and integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the people, the country, and society-at-large.
The NSPC also responds to the Department’s commitment to fostering holistic development through the MATATAG Agenda. It incorporates the 21st-centruy skills that learners continue to develop as they progress in the Basic Education Program. These standards and skills manifest in diverse journalistic experiences across print, broadcast, and new media.
The conduct of the NSPC is in pursuant to DepEd Order No. 94, s. 1992 titled Promulgating the Rules and Regulations Necessary for the Effective Implementation of RA 7079 otherwise known as the “Campus Journalism Act of 1991”, which stipulates the holding of the annual national elementary and secondary schools press conference. ###
