School calendar, activities for DepEd adjusted for SY 2023-2024

To ensure the commitment of the Department of Education (DepEd) articulated in the MATATAG Agenda to take good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education and positive learning environment, the DepEd places the highest priority on ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of learners and teachers.
As per DepEd Order No. 003, s. 2024, DepEd recognized the clamor to gradually revert the school calendar to the pre-pandemic opening of classes through a resounding consensus from extensive consultations with teachers, learners, and relevant stakeholders, and findings of the study conducted by the Philippine Normal University Titled Analysis of the Basic Education School Year Calendar in the Philippines: Inputs to Policy.
The adjusted date of the End of School Year shall be May 31, 2024, Friday, and the start of the school year 2024-2025 will be on July 29, 2024, Monday. ###
