DepEd celebrates 81st Araw ng Kagitingan, Philippine Veterans Week

The Department of Education (DepEd) joins the nation in the celebration of the Philippines’ 81st Araw ng Kagitingan and Veterans Week on April 5 to 11.
Presidential Proclamation (PP) No. 466, s. 1989, titled Declaring the Period April 5 to 11 of every year as Philippine Veterans Week, and PP 90, s. 2022, title Amending Proclamation No. 42, s. 2022, Declaring the Regular Holidays and Special (Non-Working) Days for the Year 2023.
The celebration of the Philippine Veterans Week and the 81st Anniversary of Araw ng Kagitingan aims to instill in the minds and hearts of the Filipino people especially the youth that the freedom the Filipinos enjoy was nourished by the blood and sacrifices of their veteran forefathers.
In support of said commemorations, DepEd, in cooperation with the Department of National Defense, Veterans Federation of the Philippines and Philippine Veterans Affairs Office shall conduct a poster making, oratorical, essay writing, and song writing contests as part of said celebration. ###
