Palarong Pambansa 2023 set in July to August

This year’s annual scholastic multi-sport competition or the 2023 Palarong Pambansa will be conducted on starting July 29 up to August 5 in Marikina City.
Per Department of Education (DepEd) Memorandum No. 005, s. of 2023 signed by Undersecretary Atty. Revsee A. Escobedo, the competition shall be hosted by the local government unit of Marikina City together with DepEd National Capital Region Office and the schools division office of Marikina City.
The event shall be participated by the 17 DepEd regional athletic associations.
Stated in the memorandum that Filipino athletes enrolled in recognized schools overseas are also allowed to participate under the banner of Philippine Schools Overseas.
Regional offices can conduct their respective meets on a staggered per sport/s basis on a different schedule provided that no disruption of regular classes of participating students-athletes is being observed.
To comply with the provisions of DO 034, s.2022 titled School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022-2023, particularly on the prevention of disruption of classes, and in strict observance of the COVID-l9 minimum public health and safety protocols, a modified competition format shall be adopted for the 2023 edition of the Palarong Pambansa.
