Butuanon gymnast Breanna Labadan competes in 39th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

The pride of Butuan City, Breanna Labadan is the first Filipina gymnast who competed in 39th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria last September 14-18, Wednesday evening (Thursday morning in the Philippines).
The 16-year-old Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist performed well in two apparatuses in individual all-around event where in she scored 69.850 points while Italy’s 18-year-old Sofia Raffaeli won all-around gold.
Labadan, the young Butuanon gymnast earned a spot in the tournament after she ranked 7th place in the women’s all-around in the 13th Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships in Pattaya, Thailand last June 23-26, 2022.
She bagged silver medal in the women’s all-around in the Gracia Cup 2021 in the Women’s 2006-A category and prevailed as top gymnast in the Liptov Cup 2019 at Liptovsky, Slovakia. She also finished 52nd among 136 participants in the 1st FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Junior World Championship in 2019 in Moscow.
She received qualifier incentives from the local government unit of Butuan City.
Labadan started gymnastics at the age of seven in Butuan after her parents enrolled her to a local club. She is studying at St Scholastica College in Manila and trains under the Gymnastic Association of the Philippines (GAP). ###
