Gawad Siklab 2021 National Winners Share about Leadership

Mr. Saturnino L. Macasinag Jr., National Gawad Siklab Most Outstanding SSG Teacher-Adviser; and Mr. Rixdon Niño R. Mape, National Gawad Siklab Most Outstanding SSG Student-Leader both from Ligao National High School, Ligao, Albay shared their invaluable knowledge and expertise on leadership as Resource Speakers during the Virtual Leadership Training on March 7, 2022 via google meet and Facebook live spearheaded by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) of Taligaman National High School.
According to Mr. Macasinag, “Leadership = vision + followership + influence”. He also added that our attitude defines who we are and what we can achieve in life. Furthermore, Mr. Mape said, “Pursue a cause greater than yourself”.
The event which was participated by the SSG officers, classroom presidents, club/organization presidents, and other officers aimed to foster and strengthen holistically the Leadership Management and Skills Development among student-leaders.
“I learned so much about the training. It made me more responsible not only for myself but for other students as well”, said Kiara T. Makiling, SSG President.
Gawad Siklab is another initiative of Department of Education to recognize outstanding program implementers, student leaders, supreme student and pupil government teacher advisers, school heads, and regional and division youth formation coordinators.
“With this kind of training, I believe that our SSG will soon be recognized not only in the division level but also in the national level”, said Mr. Elmer M. Cataluña, School Principal.
This leadership training was also supported by the Division Youth Formation Program Coordinator Mrs. Sheila Mae P. Paluca. ###
