DepEd creates anti-corruption committees

Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones through DepEd Order No. 007, s. 2022 has issued an order for the creation of Anti-Corruption committees in the Department.
 
The order is to create Central, Regional, and Schools Division Offices’ Committees in the Department following the policy created.
 
The following are the committees functions:
 
Central Office Anti-Corruption Committee (CO ACC)  – As the lead anti-corruption unit of the Department, Create a streamlined Complaint Action Center; Coordinate with relevant DepEd offices conducting the investigation on these matters; Monitor and report corruption-related cases and investigations; Formulate national anti-corruption policies, programs, and activities, in coordination and in consultation with the ROs, SDOs, and schools; Develop an Anti-Corruption Plan of Action for the Department; Coordinate with the Internal Audit Service in identifying corruption-prone processes in the Department; and Conduct public information campaign s to generate support for the government’s anti-corruption programs.
 
Regional Anti-Corruption Committee (RO ACC) – Refer received complaints of graft and corruption against all personnel in the Regions and Divisions to the proper disciplining authorities or existing administrative structures and mechanisms in the ROs and SDOs for appropriate action; Monitor and report corruption-related cases and investigations to the Central Office; Provide inputs to the Central Office in the formulation of anti-corruption policies; Implement anti-corruption policies, programs, and activities issued by the CO and the RO, and provide feedback on said implementation; Regularly submit corruption incident reports to the Central Office; and In accordance with national policies and standards, conduct public information campaigns to generate support for the government’s anti-corruption programs.
 
Division Anti-Corruption Committee (D ACC) – Provide inputs to the Regional Office and Central Office in the formulation of anti-corruption policies; Implement anti-corruption policies, programs, and activities issued by the CO, RO, and the SDO, and provide feedback on said implementation; Regularly submit corruption incident reports to the Central Office, through the Regional Office; and In accordance with national policies and standards, conduct public information campaigns to generate support for the government’s anti-corruption programs. ###
