In support to this year’s Women’s Month celebration with the theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women” with sub-theme Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran, teachers of the Ambago Integrated School adheres to the order of the Department of Education Caraga regional director Ma. Gemma Mercado Ledesma through Regional Memorandum No. 0103, s. 2022.
Per memorandum of the regional director, teachers are encouraged to wear anything purple on all the Tuesdays of March to signify support for women’s empowerment and gender equality.
Also, schools are enjoined to conduct activities to help the campaign more visible. Schools are also encouraged to hang tarpaulin using the Philippine Commission on women template.
This year’s celebration highlights the empowerment of women as harbingers of change that is anchored on “malasakit at pagbabago.” The sub-theme of the celebration focuses on including women’s concerns in the government agenda and enabling more women to implement and at the same time, demand programs and services that can bring the country closer to narrowing the gender gaps and moving towards sustainable and equitable development. ###
