DepEd to create EPMO

Per Department of Education Order No. 50, s. 2021, issued policy for the Creation of the Education Programs Management Office (EPMO) pursuant to the approval thereof by the Department of Budget and Management.
As stated on the order issued by DepEd Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, the EPMO shall provide strategic advice and support to the Secretary and DepEd stakeholders in addressing bottlenecks, challenges, and constraints in program management through effective and efficient monitoring, review, and reporting of the financial performance of DepEd priority programs, projects, activities, conduct of collaboration sessions to address the same, and communication of delivery agenda of the Department.
Also, the EPMO shall facilitate the realization of the last required function of a Full-Time Delivery Unit prescribed in AO 46, i.e., to work closely with DBM for quarterly monitoring and evaluation of project execution to facilitate remedial measures.
The EPMO shall provide strategic advice to the Secretary and other decision-makers relating to the performance of DepEd’s priority programs and their implication in achieving the Department’s vision and delivery agenda. In collaboration with the DepEd bureaus and services, set the strategic direction to deliver the required results of the Department, and monitor and report the progress of the identified priority programs including the conduct of interventions to resolve program implementation bottlenecks, constraints, and challenges. ###
