As the new normal in education continues, Taligaman NHS remains proactive in ensuring that all its students receive the quality education they deserve through Project REACH.

Project REACH (Remote Educational Assistance for Continuous learning at Home) is an innovation initiated by Mr. Jay O. Directo, MT-II and an English Teacher at TNHS. Mr. Directo started the project since the previous school year.

According to the innovator, the students should be given an equal chance to receive quality education despite the challenges brought by the pandemic. With this aim on mind, he created the project which gives access to students to digital learning.

The said project provides soft copies of all the modules and assessments in all subject areas across all grade levels from junior to senior high school. Lesson videos are also available which could help the students in understanding the contents of the modules.

“I am really thankful of the Project REACH. I am a single and working mom. I don’t have the luxury of time to visit the school and get the modules. Fortunately, because of this project, my daughter would be able to access all the learning modules both online and offline. The only time that I have to visit the school is during the submission of outputs,” Ms. Aiza Olaco, a parent said.

The project does not just benefit the parents but the students as well especially those who are already working to support their family and their studies.

“I am staying with my aunt’s friend in Buenavista as a working student. Indeed, Project REACH has helped me in my studies. I only need to access the link of all files related to my subjects. Whenever it’s time to submit my answers, I just have to take a picture of all my outputs and send them directly to my subject teachers through Messenger. It is really very convenient,” Grace Samson, senior high school student said.

For students who cannot access the Project REACH online due to internet connectivity, they can go to the neighboring barangays to ask for the soft copies of all the files.

Due to the positive feedback and impact of the project, some schools in the city visited TNHS to benchmark on the project. ###
