EMPLOYMENT READINESS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL TVL TRACK STUDENTS:
PAROXYSM EMPLOYABILITY MODEL

ABSTRACT
One of the ultimate purposes of education is to nurture students to meet the needs of the labor market. It is between education and employment or employment and continuous education. Employment after graduation is use as a key indicator to measure the quality of education in general, particularly in our new education system, the K to 12 Curriculum Program in Technical- Vocational- Livelihood (TVL) Track in Senior High School. This study intent to explain the employment readiness of the Grade 12 graduating Senior High School TVL Track students and to find out the employability model that would help them become fully equipped with all the skills needed based on their respective TVL Track strand specializations. This study used the descriptive correlational research design and used a researcher self- made questionnaires for work attitude and communication skills and for the TVL strand questionnaire for Home Economics (HE), Information and Commination Technology (ICT), Industrial Arts (IA) and Agricultural- Fishery Arts (AFA) are all anchored in the Department of Education (DepEd) mandated Curriculum Guide. The respondents are the Grade 12 graduating TVL Track students from Urban School with 275 students and Rural School with 193 students a total of 468 respondents. This study is conducted in Butuan City, Caraga Region, Mindanao, Philippines. The result of this study challenged the researcher to determine the employment readiness of the respondents under the four TVL Track Strands as basis for Employability Model to become highly competent and globally competitive citizen in our country and in the global market. The findings of the study revealed that the level of employment readiness of the graduating students of SHS-TVL Track is very high since they are all passers of the national certification for the skills trained for and rated very good in work attitude and good in communication skills but in some areas still both needs improvement at such employability model is intended for.
