BCES Embraces the Three (3) Teaching Learning Modality

Relative to the implementation of DepEd Order on different teaching modality, Butuan Central Elementary School offers multiple pathways to education continuity to cater the needs of learners. The school offers completely the modular distance learning, blended distance learning (combination of modular and online) and online distance learning anchored to the chosen modality that most of the parents/guardians preferred based on the survey. BCES as pilot school in ICT, embraces and never run down on facing the challenges especially the online teaching modality. At the start, hesitations among teachers upsurges since this is new to everybody and the fact that this is the first time and only Public Elementary school which offer online class in whole Butuan City. That is why DepEd school leaders are always finding avenues to solve the problems and capacitating its teachers through school planning. With the help of school ICT coordinators who lead the group of online teachers, series of activities such as school trainings has been conducted. First is the generation of teachers and learners DepEd account to be used during the capacity building on how to use the platforms (google classroom, zoom, Edmodo) for online classes. Creation of group chats among online and blended assigned teachers where sharing of best practices is open. Communication platform for parents and guardians who plays vital role for the fruitful outcome of this endeavor in the delivery of basic education were designed. The success on the implementation of the different learning modality lies not only on school leaders, the parents, learners but most of all the teachers as frontliners in the educational system. ###
