DepEd to celebrate 123rd founding anniversary

The Department of Education will celebrate its 123rd founding anniversary on June 23. Pursuant to Administrative Order No. 322, s. 1997 titled Authorizing Certain Government Agencies to Undertake Activities in Preparation for their Centennial Anniversary Celebrations in 1997, 1998, and 1999 and thereby recognizing June 23, 1898, as the Foundation Day of DepEd.
To promote public awareness of this event while ensuring strict compliance to the safety protocols, DepEd enjoins all Department officials and personnel to produce information and communication materials; participate in DepEd Online celebration; and Organize activities based on the theme “Bayanihan Para sa Edukasyon.”
Bayanihan is a Filipino term used to describe people working in solidarity to achieve a common goal. The theme expresses DepEd commitment to continually provide quality basic education through the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the learners, including the teaching and nonteaching personnel in this challenging time. ###
