New LOFTtops: Tablet PCs in Schools

In the movie Meet the Robinsons, there were a lot of inventions that proved that our future could be brighter if we keep moving forward today. Well, schools have also proved us that by giving students 2in1 Tablet PC to use for classes, trainings and contests during this pandemic.
People have been under their roofs for so long, working hard and studying because of this pandemic. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, DepEd stated that distance learning will be a major component of learning delivery for the incoming school year. So, recently, students were given laptops from The Department of Education (DepEd) to use for school purposes.
DepEd also stated that distance learning can still provide opportunities in learning despite being under your roofs all year. Smartphones and tablets were given to lower grades which were similar except tablets have bigger screens. While lower grades were given smartphones and tablets, high school students were given tablet pc, which is more appropriate because it comes with productivity tools, based from the office of DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua.
FeaSUREs: Appearance and Specifications
The Tablet PC comes with a convertible or detachable keyboard. When disassembled from the keyboard, it automatically rotates in the direction you hold the Tablet it. It has a blue case which protects the tablet/pc from damaging. The tablet has the DepEd logo at the back. It also contains servicing contact numbers at the bottom.
It also comes with a charger, a headset, a wireless mouse and mousepad, and a laptop bag. The laptop has 1.1 GHz base clock speed. It has a 10-inch screen size and 4GB memory with 32 GB internal storage. It also has built in speakers and cameras, both up front and back.
BeneFITs: Is it fit for learning?
Now it has a lot of cool features that can amaze us, aren’t you right? However, the real question is, what could be the benefits of these devices? And, are these really helpful?
One of the benefits we can get from these devices is that students, with or without devices at their homes, can use it during their online classes. Students don’t need to go to computer cafes for their online classes or meetings. It can also be used for trainings for incoming contests such as spelling bees, press conferences etc.
Students can also gain curriculum support and additional information from these devices. They can also help students keep track of their assignments and more. These prove that there are a lot of ways on how these devices can help us in many ways.
These devices are one of the things that can make our future brighter, despite being in the pandemic. Just like in the movie, all we have to do is keep moving forward. Whether the happenings are good or bad, we can always learn from them and keep moving forward to the greater future. ###
