DepEd orients regional, schools division offices on mental health, psychological support services in time of COVID-19
The Department of Education (DepEd) through DepEd order No. 12, s. 2020, Adoption of the Basic Education Learning Continuity plan for School Year 2020-2021 in light of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency), recognizes as a priority the promotion and protection of the mental and general welfare of learners and personnel in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As such, DepEd Order No. 14, s. 2020 (Guidelines on the Required Health Standards in Basic Education Offices and Schools) details the provision of mental health and psychosocial support services to increase the mental resilience of learners and DepEd personnel.
DepEd is conducting Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) for teaching and non-teaching personnel and learners from July to August, in preparation for the opening of classes, as part of the Brigada Eskwela activities.
The orientation for regional and schools division offices on MHPSS in the time of COVID-19 for learners and DepEd personnel on July 2, 2020 online.
The online orientation aims to establish the importance of MHPSS interventions; identify MHPSS activities of DepEd; and provide guidance to regional offices and schools division offices in the implementation of MHPSS activities. ###
