BUTUAN CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office in Caraga (PSA-RSSO-13) is set to begin the 2020 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2020 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) in the region next month.
In a statement sent to Philippine News Agency Tuesday, PSA-RSSO-13 director Rosalinda Celeste-Apura said the upcoming surveys will involve an approximate number of 2,145 sample housing units.
“The forthcoming surveys will involve 48 statistical researchers and field personnel,” Apura said, adding the target number of housing units is deemed sufficient to provide the regional level estimates during the surveys. “The survey focused on the collection of data to generate non-income-based indicators correlated with poverty.”
The indicators, she said, will serve as inputs to the development of the Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) for the assessment and monitoring of the poverty situation in the country.
Apura also urged residents, particularly the sample households, to cooperate during the surveys–the 14th in the series of poverty indicators survey nationwide.
The collection of data by the researchers and field personnel will run from July 8 to 31, 2020.
Apura said all information collected during the surveys from the sample households shall be kept confidential by PSA-RSSO-13.
The collected data, she added, will not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation, or regulation as provided under Article 55 of the Republic Act 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013. (PNA)
