According to K.S. Jayaraman as mentioned by Dr. Alkuino from his Campjourn Workbook, a thorough understanding of science and technology isn’t always the most significant qualification in science writing. Most editors think that an excellent science writer is made up of 80% strong journalism and 20% ability for learning to convey scientific and technical discoveries and creations.

As cited from a book titled “Scientific Articles Structure” by Parlindungan Pardede. It is worth noting the following tips for writing effective science articles.

1. The first paragraph outlines what was discovered and why it was significant. The goal might be rephrased in more generic words. This section concentrates on the larger picture of what the outcomes are all about. Explain the findings in detail and demonstrate how they will contribute to existing knowledge or teaching practice.
2. The second paragraph should discuss the research design and methodology’s strengths and limitations. Honesty is necessary for this situation. Just keep in mind that no study is ever flawless, and no author should be unduly critical of their work.
3. The results and interpretations should be compared to comparable published work and hypotheses in the middle paragraphs. The only thing that readers will care about is how the findings compare to those of other scientifically sound research. As a result, it’s polite to limit the conversation to work on a subject that’s both relevant and respectable. Give credit where credit is due to those whose work has been proven, but be fair to those whose results differ from the current findings and try to explain why.
4. The concluding paragraph should be utilized to offer an enticing overview of the results’ implications. This is also the area to wrap up the discussion with a conclusion (if applicable) and recommendations for additional investigation.

Science and technology news, science and technology editorial, and scientific and technology feature articles are all possible categories for a science article. As a result, scientific journalists must be familiar with the structure, identity, and distinctions of each of these groups. The writer must also acquire the ability to write them following their specific structure. ###
