2019 Philippine Youth Games set

BUTUAN CITY – The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), will conduct the 2019 Philippine Youth Games-Batang Pinoy nationwide.
In Mindanao, the event will be held on February 2-9, 2019 in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
Through DepEd Memorandum No. 13, series of 2019, it states that the expenses of the learner-athletes and school coaches relative to their participation in the said event shall be shouldered by the local government units which they represent and no funds coming from DepEd shall be used for the said event.
Likewise, DepEd secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones also reiterated in the memo that there shall be no fund-raising activity by field officials, public school administrators or teachers for the same purpose.
Also, Physical Education and other public school teachers and non-teaching employees selected by the National Sports Associations, as confirmed by the PSC and approved by the DepEd, through their respective schools division superintendents or heads of offices, shall serve as officiating officials in the game. They shall attend on official time only.

The participation of learner-athletes in any PSC-sponsored activities contributes to the total development of the child and their attendance is encouraged.  ###
