DepEd issues basic education enrollment policy

Pursuant to the Constitutional mandate of the Department of Education (DepEd) to ensure the delivery of accessible and quality education, it has put in place a functional basic education system – the enactment of Republic Act (RA) No. 10157 or the Kindergarten Act and RA 10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013.

Children aged five years old by August 31st of the school year they will enroll are eligible to enroll in Kinder. Children who have completed Kindergarten programs in DepEd accredited schools and centers are also eligible to enroll in Grade, they are required to submit the Kindergarten Certificate of Completion and birth certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to the school they will enroll. For those children who have completed any form of Kindergarten program in non-DepEd accredited learning and day-care centers, or home-schooled learners will present the result of PEPT or PVT together with the birth certificate from the PSA.

To be accepted in Grade 7, the Grade 6 graduate are required to submit SF 9 Grade 6 (formerly Form 138) and PEPT Passer or A&E Test Passer will bring with them result of PEPT or A&E Test and birth certificate from PSA.

Grade 10 completers and PEPT Passers or A&E Test Passers are also eligible to enroll in Grade 11. They have to submit their SF 9 Grade 10 (formerly Form 138) and PEPT or A&E Test Results and birth certificate from PSA, respectively. ###
