HGDG and VAWC training program implementers to undergo workshops, orientation

BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Education (DepEd) will conduct the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) Workshop for Training Program Implementers and Orientation on the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC).
The orientation for Regions 11, 12, Caraga and Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao is scheduled on October 17 to 19, 2017 to be held in Davao City. It is aimed to explain, familiarize and capacitate participants on the use of HGDG checklist to promote gender responsive programs, projects and activities; and discuss and promote gender awareness and VAWC and Sexual Harassment, and how to address gender issues.
The conduct of the activity is pursuant to Executive Order No. 273 entitled Approving and Adopting the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development, 1995-2025 and Republic Act No. 9710 otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Women. (DepEd Butuan City Division)
