It’s a tug of war whether Lumbia Airport is going to be a future business district or an army facility.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s anti-US rants, Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, announced to start constructing some facilities in Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City, along with other Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) selected camps as mentioned in a Manila Times article dated yesterday, January 27, 2017.
It can be recalled that the government is set to build a P987 million air base of 15th Strike Wing of the Philippine Air Force comprising several mid-rise buildings southwest of the runway. It’s more likely a storage area and troops’ facilities will be built in Cagayan de Oro as part of the EDCA agreement. ## (meb-news.blogspot.com)
