National seminar-workshops set Baguio
BUTUAN CITY – Different National Seminar-Workshops has been lined up starting February up to May 2017 in Baguio City.
On February 18 to 20, a National Seminar-Workshop on conducting Research on Teaching and Learning will be held. The three-day workshop aims to provide participants with framed research questions and identified ways to gather and analyze data using either qualitative or quantitative (or both) methods of research.
The workshop will also help participants familiarize the process of presenting research papers in conferences, and equip them with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to pursue additional research projects for classroom improvement, research journal publication and research paper presentation.
A National Seminar-Workshop on Best Practices in Managing K to 12 Schools will also be held on March 18 to 20. This will also help the participants with various leadership styles, which are deemed relevant in the management of K to 12 schools.
Also, the participants will gain knowledge in handling legal issues and problems concerning the management of school finances, enrolment, human resources, community affairs, and student behavior; and have a working knowledge of Philippine laws that are useful in making decisions and in facing challenges in the management of senior high schools.
The Best Practices in Teaching Oral Communication to K to 12 Learners seminar-workshop was also scheduled on May 6 to 8. This will help the participants conquer their fear in public speaking and discover their self-confidence for communicating in front of a big audience; provide them with lessons from the resource speakers who will demonstrate best strategies and practices in teaching oral communication; and encourage them to come up with their own plans in teaching oral communication that will take inspiration from the best practices learned.
On May 27 to 29, Best Practices in Teaching 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and he World will be conducted. The workshop aims to familiarize the participants with the geographic, linguistic, and ethnic dimensions of Philippine literary history from pre-colonial to contemporary; help them identify representative texts from different regions and countries for discussion in their own classrooms; and provide them with lessons from the resource speakers who will demonstrate best strategies and practices in teaching 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World.
