Heavy rains cause massive flooding in Cagayan De Oro City
Major streets in Cagayan De Oro City were submerged in floods on Monday due to heavy rains brought about by a low pressure area in the vicinity of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay and the tail-end of a cold front.
PAGASA raised a red rainfall warning alert over Northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula, with flooding expected over low-lying areas.
The Cagayan de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) said rescue operations were underway on Monday evening, with military trucks dispatched to rescue residents.
People took to social media to share the plight of people in places inundated with floods.
