4 injured in Iligan City explosion
A military report says an unidentified individual in a black shirt with bonnet and white shoes rode past on a motorcycle and threw a grenade at the vicinity of Public Plaza, Poblacion, Iligan City
LANAO DEL NORTE, Philippines (3rd UPDATE) – Four people were injured and taken to the hospital following a grenade explosion in Iligan City on Wednesday night, December 7.
According to a military report, an unidentified individual in a black shirt with bonnet and white shoes rode past on a motorcycle and threw a grenade at the vicinity of Public Plaza, Poblacion, Iligan City.
The following were reported injured in the blast:

- Cristine Mercaderos
- Cherryl Paquit
- Shielamae Maagad
Earlier reports from City Vice Mayor Monsignor Jaymar Vera Cruz and Senior Superintendent Graciano Mijares confirmed an explosion.
Iligan City is the capital city of Lanao del Norte and is just an hour away from Marawi City, where authorities are tracking down the Maute terror group. The Maute group is being pursued by the military in Butig town, Lanao del Sur.
