Precious Relano is Miss TNHS Diamond 2016
Precious Relano, a 16-year old from Grade 10 Einstein was the crowned winner of Miss TNHS Diamond 2016. She bested 22 other contestants from the different grade levels and sections during the Miss TNHS Diamond Grand Coronation Night held at Taligaman Covered Court on March 10, 2016.
The reigning Miss TNHS Diamond Precious Relano’s journey to the crown wasn’t easy. Like Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzback, she joined the pageant two times, but did not succeed in her first try. She won 1st Runner-up in the First Edition of Miss TNHS Diamond in the year 2014. There were naysayers who felt she couldn’t make it on her second time but because of her great determination and encouragement from her family, adviser, classmates and friends, she continued to pursue her dreams.
During the Q&A portion, Precious was asked about why she should be the next Miss TNHS Diamond. Her answer: “Miss TNHS Diamond embodies the true of values of what TNHS students should have. By being hard and strong to face all the challenges in life and able to shed light to those who are in need by promoting different advocacies like K to 12 Curriculum which is of great importance today. I will use these values to inspire and encourage everyone to do the same. I would like people to remember me as a woman who is standing hard and shining bright like a diamond.”
An emotional Relano, who also won Best in Production Number (K to 12 Attire), received her crown from Miss TNHS Diamond 2015 Justine Verano making it a back-to-back win under the class of Mr. Glen Pacot.
Bagging the Miss TNHS Diamond 1st Runner-up was Rhealyn Galabo from Grade 8 Harvey. She also won Best in Long Gown and Best in Talent.
Meanwhile the Miss TNHS Diamond 2nd Runner-up was awarded to Cherry Mae Montera from Grade 8 Darwin who also won Miss Photogenic.
Making it to top 5 were Norvileen Tumbaga from Grade 9 Dalton who won People’s Choice Award and Wensdy Jane Occena from Grade 10 Euler.
Among the judges in Miss TNHS Diamond 2016 were Josephine Nicole M. Avila, Jan Michael Gabrielle P. Corvera, Jeanne B. Peggy, Francis Hubert C. Dorico, and Elnathan Gambe.
Precious Relano will help the school in promoting K to 12 Curriculum Advocacy particularly the pilot implementation of Senior High School in the next school year. She is also expected to bring pride and honor to Taligaman National High School as she will represent the school in other beauty competitions within the barangay and in the city as well. ## (By Glen B.
